Wacky Winter Beer = Goodness

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Winter is upon us, and that means that all of the microbreweries are making their winter seasonals.  Stouts and porters are usually viewed as “winter beers”, so right now all of the beer on the dark end is getting the treatment.  Personally, I have always favored the darker beers.  They lend themselves to interesting variations, one of my favorites being stouts or porters with coffee.   I figure that I have all year to drink normal dark beers, so why not try something new while I can?

Here’s what I’ll be sipping this New Year’s Eve.  Everyone have a good time and stay safe!

Musical Downloady Goodness

First things first: the Reaching Scarlet EP “Distraction” is available for download, for realsies.  Here’s a link to the Amazon page:

Distraction

I’m assuming it’s up on iTunes, eMusic, and Napster, but I don’t have any of those programs on this computer so’s I can’t check.  But if it made it up on Amazon I will assume that it’s on the others.  If anyone has those and wishes to chime and say that it’s up, that would be coolio.

Also, since I’m pimping downloads like some sort of downloading pimp today, here’s a link to Amazon’s 99 song Beethoven download.  Much like the Barnes & Noble self-published classics, I wholeheartedly support making classical music and literature made extremely affordable.  When you can buy this much music for $2 and Shakespeare’s complete works for $10, you’d almost be a fool not to.  I’m about 60 tracks into the Beethoven download, and I’m already up to a gig of music.

Geez, you leave for TWO months…

And you get comment-spammed hardcore.  All of the offending posts have been deleted.

I suppose if I posted more often I would have caught that.

For those that are interested, the Reaching Scarlet EP is DONE.  Finished.  Completed.  We just had it mastered the other night, and we’re all very pleased.  Soon it will be available on iTunes, eMusic, Napster, and one or two other downloady sites… we’ll also be selling it from our website (www.reachingscarlet.com) as well as at all of our shows.

That’s all I have for now.  This is my blog’s life story – I’ve had several, but I need to keep up on content!
